IN DIALOGUE - THE COLLECTION

ACRYLIC & COLLAGE ON CANVAS

“In Dialogue is a collection of five large-scale abstract paintings that tell stories of renewal, strength, and the courage to bloom again.”

This collection emerged from my ongoing mentorship with Francine Tint, a driving force in the lineage of Abstract Expressionism, during an intensive workshop at The Art Students League of New York.

I treated the workshop like an artist residency, channeling years of study with Francine into a focused body of large-scale works. What unfolded was an intuitive dialogue: with Francine, the canvas, and myself.

These paintings reflect the convergence of many spaces—the grounding presence of nature at my home studio, the electric pulse of New York City, and the quiet inner space where creation begins. Though I wasn’t consciously thinking of it while painting, the season of spring—with its quiet promises of renewal, strength, and the courage to bloom again—echoes through the work.

With Francine’s words in my ear, reminding me “The colors are inside you. They come through you,” I surrendered control, trusting the unknown, and let what was waiting within emerge.

The resulting works are fluid and gestural, with layered colors that pulse with life and movement.

These works speak to the quiet power of surrender—and the courage it takes to trust what’s already inside.
